The IEEE MITRANS International Logistics & Transport Conference 2020 (IEEE MILTC 2020) is a virtual conference in which the IEEE Control System Society (IEEE CSS) Malaysia Chapter is the  Main Sponsor and Malaysia Institute of Transport (MITRANS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is the Conference Friend.

Conference Theme             :   Innovation and Resilience in Transport and Logistics
Conference Platform          :   Virtual presentations of papers will be conducted via Google Meet

Conference Objectives:
The main aspiration of the IEEE MILTC 2020 is to accelerate the global response to the utilization of emerging technologies and innovations in transportation and logistics to create a more inclusive and sustainable businesses, societies and nations.

IEEE MILTC 2020 is a multi-disciplinary conference that aims to bring world’s experts and academics in the area of Transport and Logistics to define new boundaries and to deliver research results, innovative solutions and technologies that are of vital importance to the development of solutions and strategies to address challenges and requirements of current and future transportation and logistics industry.  The conference will offer the opportunities for enhancement in the depth and breadth of knowledge of the subject as well as to explore new areas of collaboration between the academia and the industry. 

The conference aims on the following:
•   to provide opportunities for academicians and professionals to share their diversified knowledge and experience as well as latest research findings and advancements,
•   to offer networking opportunities for speakers, attendees and representatives of various related organizations with shared interests, and
•   to serve as a key platform to share cutting-edge developments that highlights the relevance and importance of transportation in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda.

Dr. Venkat Sumantran 

Chairman of Celeris Technologies


Dr. Venkat Sumantran has spent over 30 years in the auto industry spanning USA, Europe and Asia. He is currently Chairman of Celeris Technologies and serves as advisor to many Fortune 100 corporations. He has founded and led organisations across the spectrum of autos, industrials, defence and information technology. He was the Director of R&D for the GM-FIAT alliance in Europe and later served as chief executive of the car business at Tata Motors. Spanning the domains of industry and academia, he has served on the Science Advisory Council of the Prime Minister of India. He is a member of the Board of Governors at the IIT Ropar and also an Adjunct Professor at MIT’s MISI. He is a Founder-Director of Chennai City Connect, a think-tank for urban stakeholders. He has a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management of Technology.





Prof. Dr. David Gonsalvez 

CEO and Rector at the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI)


Professor Dr. David Gonsalvez is the CEO and Rector at the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI), an education and research center in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Network (MIT SCALE). Earlier he was in charge of MIT’s Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) in Zaragoza, Spain. Prior to joining MIT’s Global SCALE Network, he had a 20+ year career at General Motors where he was Director of Global Supply Chain Strategy. Prof. Gonsalvez has a B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Ohio State University.




Ir Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin, P Eng 
Chief Technical Officer Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad

Ir Ahmad Nizam, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St Louis, USA in 1993. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He also holds the Malaysian Advanced Diploma Skills in Electric Train Maintenance. After spending around 2 years in the construction industry, Ir Ahmad Nizam started his career in railways when he joined Prasarana’s Kelana Jaya Line LRT in Kuala Lumpur. He held the post of Engineer in the QA & Engineering Department before being promoted to other positions in the department. In January 2011, he was appointed to be the Chief Operating Officer of the Kelana Jaya Line LRT, before being appointed to be the Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd. In September 2016, he was been appointed as the Chief Infra Services Officer. Under this portfolio, he is in charge of the Group’s Procurement, Facilities Maintenance, Contracts Management, and Information Technology departments. In June 2020, he joins KTMB as the Chief Technical Officer. Throughout his career, Ahmad Nizam has been involved in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and infrastructure projects in railways. In the early days of his career, he spent much of his time in activities that involved instrumentation, data acquisition, and post-processing analysis. His IT skills are mainly revolved around graphics, database, and programming among which includes AutoCAD, FreeCAD, PHP, mySQL, VBA for Excel, Arduino Sketch, PicBasic Pro, Design Spark, and many more. Those skills that he acquired are mainly through self learning which initially were intended to assist him in his day-to-day tasks which are in line with his principle to be “Efficient and Self Reliant”.






Prof. Ruth Banomyong, PhD 
Dean, Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand 


Prof. Ruth Banomyong, graduated in International Logistics, Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, Wales, the United Kingdom in 2001. He is currently the Dean of Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. He one of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Logistics: Research & Applications (IJLRA); International Journal of Shipping & Transport Logistics (IJSTL), Journal of Transport & Logistics (JTL), International Journal of Electronic Transport, Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management (HLSCM), International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management (IJPDLM), The Asian Journal of Shipping & Logistics (AJSL). Since 2011, he is Independent Director, SeaOil Co. Limited and Independent Director, Charoensin Property (Public) Limited started from 2006.
